As for me,
I'm from Texas but was mostly raised in the Northern United States. I am a programmer, sysadmin, and general Unix geek. I am also interested in philosophy and psychology. I'm a socialist academe, an avid reader, and a prolific source of bad jokes. I graduated from University sometime around 2001, but I'm not done learning yet. I care about people, but value my solitude. When in a relationship, I love fiercely, but I haven't found people who are suitable, available, and interested for a long time. I'm fairly shy. I have two legs and two cats (probably a coincidence). Until recently, I did MRI research for CMU. I ate any brains that looked particularly tasty, but I'm not a zombie. My zombie friends are jealous of me both for eating brains and not being a zombie. I started playing music with them and we had a band called the ZomBie-tles, but we broke up when bits of them started breaking up. I am part of several cabals, but I can't connect to them anymore because I lost my Cabalmodem.
I am deeply enthused about the sciences, and care a lot about the world, the public good, world history, and current events. I approach the world from a philosophical perspective that is materialist, empiricist, relativist, and informed by broad readings in philosophy. I believe that science and politics without a good background of philosophy are blind when it comes to approaching meaning or "should".
I am moderately libertine, but I strongly oppose Libertarian or liberty-fundamentalist political philosophy. If you start from first principles and use a rights-based style of reasoning to move us towards minarchism, I'll disagree with you strongly. If instead you value personal autonomy and strive to build a system that includes a good amount of it in our general conception of the public good, I'm more likely to agree with you.
