There's an interesting bit of news...Taiwan fires test missle. The timing here is very poor. I don't have much in the way of an opinion onTaiwanese independance. However, it seems to me that Taiwan should at leastwait until the U.S. isn't busy wasting time on Palestine and its Zionistoccupiers. The people only have enough attention to focus on one thing ata time (when they can manage that), and when they don't care, the politicianswon't care, and nothing will happen. Couldn't Taiwan have waited a while? If they end up needing help, which they surely might, they'd be far betteroff getting attention from the U.S. if the resultant conflict with Chinais the only thing to think about.

I've been making great strides in my doctrine of custody. It's been atopic which has caused me great difficulty in the past, but I finallyfeel that I have worked out how I want my values to gel into atheoretical ideal policy. Of course, I've also been enjoying myselfon Sentient, the mailing list that is loosely tied to SFF,the local student-tied atheist/agnostic group. We always have such livelydiscussions on politics, philosophy, and everything in that sphere..

One of my friends is going through a difficult time in their life.I hope things work out for them.
