As a supplemental, for the trip, I picked up Robin Wright's The Last Great Revolution. It's a great read that follows a female reporter's numerous trips to Persia and her (often very frank) conversations with all sorts of people on the revolution and the current state of things. I'm about two thirds of the way through. The other book, All the Shah's Men is a book I've heard good thing about, but haven't yet started on.
