Some possibly interesting news and links:
- Censored things on Google Earth
- It's really weird to see Goethe (THE Goethe) on IMDB, especially as "Miscellaneous Film Crew", having written "Soundtracks", and been a writer for Filmography.
- Dell is shipping some systems with DOS again. :)
- Sometimes tradition leads to idiocy. Some old villages in Africa don't understand the environmental impact of their actions .. well, this isn't that odd, considering that western governments (mostly) don't get the point either.
- Hezbollah is flexing its muscle in Lebanon.
- Mohammad Ali Abtahi, in a recent blog post, wonders the other side on why Persia is allying itself with Socialist South American countries, given the radically different philosophies they embody.
- Should encouraging people to do something stupid be criminal? Apparently the family of some idiot who drank too much water in a contest thinks so.
- Watch out for businesspeople - they'll worm their way into any community and ruin it. "What's the harm if we start to infect your project with dollarsigns and possible threats of lawsuits over tortious interference?". They need to be stopped at the door, slapped, and sent elsewhere. Sure, they may call communities that do that as "extremist" or "idealist". What's the harm in that? :) A strong sense of morals/ethics that is opposed to many forms of capital, especially if it blocks many theoretical types of business, is a sign of good character for a person or an organisation. It's a pity we don't see more of that in the world.
