It is a worthy role of the United Nations, alongside its other legitimate roles, of reminding us-as-nations of the ideals we're not yet ready/able to seek while chastising us when we fail to meet those we have chosen to try to meet. So long as it is not derailed in this task by nations that do not aim high, it is good to have someone to remind us who we could be.
