The Clean and the Organic

Idea from a story that might eventually be worked into being presentable:

  • Story is significantly about attitudes that focus on hygiene versus those that are non-neat and organic.
  • Sometime before the story begins, one of the main characters is introduced:
  • At some point in life, he stepped between two types of order, his first concerned with true zeros after easy numbers and concepts with few exceptions, the second with a relaxed efficiency. The transition between 1:00 and 1:11 as a microwave mantra might hardly be noticed by an external observer, but philosophically it was an earthquake.
  • Topics in the story: Occam's Razor, ordering of mental worlds, science, organicity
I feel this topic a bit more than usual because my shaver broke a few days ago and only a few hours ago did I get a replacement (haven't been home yet though, so I am still uncomfortably face-hairy).

Two important things for society on Youtube:

I am still seeking a couch-or-other-place-to-sleep-on for my Pittsburgh trip from the 30th to the 2nd of next month.

Microwave mantra?
I sometimes think of (the pattern of buttons we press to select a rough amount of time in a microwave) as a mantra.
I really like microwaves with a "+1 minute" button..
1:11 is for amateurs; :66 is pro mode.
That'd be great. Thanks!

Oh, BTW, if you happen by a drugstore, you should pick up some Elgydium Toothpaste. It's really good stuff.
