NYC: Temporary roomates?

I'm paying $1125/month right now to keep living in PHL; it might make sense for me to move to NYC before finding a job if I can get cheaper accomodations; it'll make finding a job and finding my own place easier, and in the meantime at least I'd be living roughly where I like.

If any of my readers is living in a place that:
1) Has a spare (tiny is ok!) room for me
2) Would accept two cats
3) Has high-speed internet (I would not mind chipping in)
4) Has rent that would be less than I'm paying now (ideally a fair bit less, but maybe just less)
5) Wouldn't mind doing the arrangements flexibly so I can leave once I get my first paycheck in a to-be-acquired job
6) Is in Brooklyn or Manhattan

Then let's talk. Likewise, if you know anyone who can offer the same (excluding living arrangements that'd have me living with people I probably would not get along with, namely zsparks or Ed) please let me know. I haven't lived with people (apart from romantic partners) for over 10 years, but I'm willing to give it a go.
